Your budget is personal.
Here’s how bank connections and account access work, and where to find the controls for your data.
Connecting a bank is your choice.
You can use Alto with manual accounts and transactions. Pro adds connections to supported institutions through Plaid. Your bank login credentials are handled in the linking flow and are not stored by Alto.
Alto stores the connection token needed to retrieve bank activity. You can disconnect an account to stop future syncing while keeping its recorded history. Read the bank-sync guide.
Your account controls access.
Alto uses Supabase Auth for sign-in. User-scoped database access applies row-level security to separate users’ budget records. Authorized service processes also handle work such as bank synchronization and subscription updates.
Use a unique password or your supported Apple or Google sign-in. Never send your password or bank credentials to support.
Payments go through Stripe or Apple.
Web subscriptions are processed by Stripe; iPhone subscriptions are processed by Apple. Alto stores subscription identifiers and status to provide access, rather than your full payment-card details.
Manage renewal where you subscribed. Deleting your Alto account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
Know what is collected.
Your budget contains account, transaction, category, and savings information. Alto also uses analytics and diagnostic services. Our Privacy Policy explains the information involved, service providers, retention, and your choices.
Review the account-deletion controls in Settings when you want to remove your account. Read the confirmation and export any records you want to keep first.
